Discussion on Construction and Development of Research Universities! Promoting the Construction of World-class Universities and Disciplines in China

Research university， as a type of university and an important part of the higher education system， has existed for almost 200 years and has been gradually accepted all over the world. Therefore， this allows China to learn a lesson about how to establish and identify a “sample ” research university for constructing a group of research universities based on China' reality. This helps China' universities to gradually become one of top world universities. Within this context， this paper firstly introduces the development history of research university in China， then proposes the meaning of this concept and its positioning. Finally， based on an in-depth discussion on some existing problems， this paper points out some implications for future development of research universities in China and future construction of world-class universities and disciplines.
