The Starry Moments: Creation of Teachers College，Columbia University

Between late 19th century and early 20th century，Teachers College，Columbia University was driven into being by several powerful leaders: Grace Hoadley Dodge，Nicholas Murray Butler，Walter L． Hervey， James Earl Ｒussell，and William Fletcher Ｒussell． It was successfully transformed from a charity institution into a college for training teachers，and then further to a professional school in a university． In the process， many distinguished educational scholars gathered there and created an important foundation for the building and development of the College and even the discipline of education in the United States．
