中文摘要 | 本文讨论认知语言学对二语教学的贡献及其局限性。全文分为三部分。第一部分阐述认知语言学提出的语言三大特点:体验性、隐喻性和理据性。第二部分说明认知语言学对外语教学可能作出的两点主要贡献:(1)为传统的对比分析注入了活力;(2)为解释语言现象提供了理据。第三部分指出认知语言学理论应用到外语教学中的三点局限性:(1)理据不能解释所有的语言现象;(2)理据性知识不是程序性知识;(3)理据解释不完全适合低水平二语学习者。 |
英文摘要 | The paper discusses the contributions Cognitive Linguistics can possibly make to second language teaching and its limitations. The paper consists of three sections. Section One explains three major features of language with illustrative examples: being embodied, metaphoric and motivated; Section Two illustrates two contributions of Cognitive Linguistics to second language learning: expanding the scope of traditional contrastive analysis and providing motivations for some linguistics phenomena. Section Three indicates three limitations of Cognitive Linguistics. The first is that motivations proposed by Cognitive Linguistics cannot account for all the linguistic phenomena; the second, motivations are not procedural knowledge; the third, the knowledge of motivations are not all suitable for the lower-level second language learners. |
