"A Framework for K-12 Science Education: Practices, Crosscutting Concepts, and Core Ideas" released recently is the basis of developing the new science education standards in the United States, and also provides important reference and guidance for science curriculum developers, science teachers, institutes of teacher training, and other science educators. This paper analyzes and interprets the background, characteristics, and main contents of the FRAMEWORK thoroughly, and also puts forward some enlightenment according to the actual situation of the science education in China.
