Guo Bingwen was an influential educator in modern China.He was president of Nanjing Higher Normal School and president of the National Southeast University successively and participated actively in international cultural and educational exchanges.Guo Bingwen put forward the idea of fostering the world spirit by promoting international exchanges and also suggested education as a means to develop the national strength,to advance world peace,and to serve humanity.These peace education thoughts are more than precious spiritual wealth in the history of modern Chinese education?they have profound practical significance even in the 21st century.
