In China, teacher development is one of the core contents of the new reform project of undergraduate teaching quality, building faculty development mechanism is a new hot issue for higher education research and exploration. The article summarizes historical experience of teaching center of Harvard University, analyzes its purpose, function and characteristics. It seeks developing space and possibility for the construction and operation of Chinese university faculty developing center.
