中文摘要 | 學系作為基層學術組織,往往會隨著學科本身的發展而不斷發生變化。康涅狄格大學地質系創辦多年,但隨著地質科學交叉學科的興起以及學科綜合化的發展趨勢,以單一分支學科為主的學系逐漸遠離了學校發展的重點。本文以康涅狄格大學地質系為案例,分析其被停辦的決策過程,探討學科發展方向如何影響學術組織的命運。 |
英文摘要 | As the basic academic organization, department always changes with the development of discipline. The Geology department of Connecticut University has been founded for several years. However, with the growth of inter-disciplines and comprehensive disciplines, the development strategy for the department based on the single discipline is no longer the main direction for Connecticut University. The study analyses the process of decision making of closing geology department, and discusses how development direction of disciplines affect the fate of academic organizations. |
