Higher education accreditation in Taiwan has evolved from disciplinary evaluation into university affairs evaluation and then departmental evaluation. The establishment of higher education accreditation center， the formulation of departmental evaluation mechanism and the implementation procedure illustrate a trend toward specialization in Taiwan's higher education accreditation; The outcome of the evaluation and the mechanism that ＂unqualified departments exit from the stage＂ combine to highlight the unique feature of localization of Higher education accreditation in Taiwan.
