A study of American language education policy: Fifty years' retrospect

始于20 世纪60 年代的美国语言教育政策研究经历了50 年的繁荣发展，产生了大批有份量、有价值的成果。来自应用语言学、社会学、历史学、法学、政治学、人口统计学和生态学等领域的学者，运用多学科的研究方法，从多元文化、批判理论、后现代主义及经济学等视角，探究了意识形态对语言教育政策制定和实施的影响、语言发展与社会认同、教师教育及语言少数族裔学生英语学习和学业成绩提高等，其研究视域和研究成果对中国的母语教育和外语教育政策研究，有促进反思和借鉴的价值。

The study of American language education policy which started in the 1960s has experienced 50 years' prosperous development and produced a number of valuable results. With multi-disciplinary research methods and from the perspectives of multi-culture， critical theory， postmodernism and economy， scholars from applied linguistics， sociology， history， law， political science， demography and ecology explore the impact of ideology on policy formulation and implementation， language development and social identity， teacher education， and English learning and academic performance of language minority students. Their research horizon and achievements will have values of reflection and reference for language education and foreign language education policy research in China.
