| 中文摘要 | 台灣數十年來一直處於戰爭威脅之下,面對不斷變動的全球局勢與兩岸關係演變。雖然戰爭並非台灣戰後藝術的主流主題,但仔細觀察可見一條以戰爭為題材的藝術脈絡。本研究主張,這些作品可提供對台灣當代藝術中持續尋求身份認同的更深入理解,補充了這一尋求過程中不可簡化的面向。本研究從1990年代崛起的身份論述出發,追蹤其在台灣不斷變化的地緣政治脈絡中的發展。透過策展與藝術家的陳述、學術文獻、藝術評論及部分出版物,研究同時聚焦三部關鍵文本,作為觀點形成的參考。這些資料共同幫助將台灣戰後冷戰後藝術景觀中的特定脈絡置於背景下,並透過島嶼長期面臨戰爭威脅的視角加以理解。為涵蓋當代視角,研究分析若干近期作品,這些作品或隱含、或直接表述戰爭焦慮,凸顯身份主題處理上的顯著演變。透過將政治緊張局勢與藝術史發展相連,本研究界定自1990年代以來的四個不同時期,每一時期均受國內、兩岸及全球政治變遷的影響。本研究並非提出最終的歷史論述,而是一個出發點——邀請進一步的批判性探討。 |
| 英文摘要 | Taiwan has lived under the persistent threat of war for decades, shaped by shifting global dynamics and evolving cross-Strait relations. While war has not been a dominant theme in Taiwan’s post-Cold War art, a closer examination reveals a trajectory of war-related works that reflect the island’s complex identity search. This study argues that these works offer deeper insights into Taiwan’s ongoing exploration of identity in contemporary art, highlighting an often-overlooked aspect of this journey. Building on the identity discourses that gained prominence in the 1990s, this study traces their evolution in response to Taiwan’s changing geopolitical context. Drawing from curatorial and artistic statements, academic literature, and art criticism, it engages with three key texts that shape this perspective. Together, these sources provide a framework for understanding a distinct trajectory within Taiwan’s post–Cold War art scene, viewed through the lens of the island’s prolonged exposure to the threat of war. To incorporate present-day perspectives, the study also analyzes several recent works that either imply or directly address wartime anxieties, showcasing a significant evolution in how identity is thematically explored. By connecting political tensions to developments in art history, the study identifies four distinct periods since the 1990s, each shaped by major shifts in domestic, cross-Strait, and global politics, as reflected in the themes and statements of the artists. Rather than offering a definitive historiography, this framework serves as a starting point—inviting further critical engagement. |
