世界中的臺灣：三毛《撒哈拉的故事》的翻譯研究

Worlding Taiwan: A Translation Study on Sanmao’s Stories of the Sahara

本文主要透過班雅明（Walter Benjamin）提出的「可譯性」概念與李育霖〈翻譯作為皺摺〉中語言倫理主體化的思維，來分析三毛《撒哈拉的故事》的「翻譯」活動是如何在迻譯的文學作品中讓讀者看見「臺灣」，並在「翻譯語言」的閱讀模式中想像「臺灣」。本文研究目的除了希望藉此路徑補充「文化翻譯」中較缺失的語言翻譯與主體建構的美學與生命政治等相關問題外，更期望從中更進一步尋覓出在世界中一條由「翻譯」映射出的「臺灣」路徑。

This study focuses on the translation activity of Sanmao’s Stories of the Sahara through the perspective of Walter Benjamin’s“translatability”and Lee Yulin’s notion of“linguistic ethical subjectivity,”as articulated in his single essay“Translation as Folding.”It will present the foreign how to perceive“Taiwan”within the work of the translation literary and to imagine“Taiwan”in the reading mode of“the language of translation.”The purpose of this study is not only to supplement the relatively underexplored issues in“cultural translation”—such as linguistic translation, subject formation, aesthetics, and biopolitics—but also to further seek, through the lens of“translation,”a path that reflects and maps out a distinct“Taiwanese”trajectory in the world.
