Knowledge Is Not a Shovel

德语中有关教育作用的理解如[文化构建（教养）]（Bildung）和[培训]（Ausbildung）的区分在以技术飞速发展为标志的未来不再有效。不管人们如何理解教育，教育的首要目标必须是培养思考的能力、提出新观点的能力以及共同实施这些观点的能力。认知上的多语主义是防止知识专业化的唯一手段，这种知识专业化会大大限制我们的视野，从而导致结构上的不负责任。

The distinction between cultural formation (Bildung) and professional training (Ausbildung) in the German language understanding of the role of education is no longer valid in a future marked by rapid technological change. The primary aim of education， however one understands it， must instead be to nurture the ability to reflect， to develop new ideas， and to implement these collectively. Cognitive multilingualism is the only way to prevent the specialization of knowledge narrowing our horizons to an extent that results in structural irresponsibility.
