Applications of AI intelligent service robot in medical treatment and long-term care

隨著人口老化，臺灣預計也將於幾年後（2025年）邁入超高齡社會，但長期照護人力還是嚴重的缺乏，無法滿足需求，但隨著AI科技的進步，智慧型服務機器人就是可能的解決方案之一，有四個主要的方面，安全確認、陪伴、疾病治療及預防與省力。目前在臺灣亦已有機器人公司，在醫療應用方面，可以做到遠端即時視訊、生理監測、衛教說明以及智能服務等功能，在長照的應用部分，則有用藥提醒、互動對話、腦力訓練及肢體復健等功能，而且在機器人加上自主移動的能力之後，更可以提供遠端巡房，遞送跑腿，場地導覽、服務串聯等服務。以減少與人的接觸服務。期望在不斷的技術創新，AI人工智能的更加成熟，以及硬件平臺價格更平民化之後，可以讓機器人導入到醫療長照，並讓人力不足的問題得以適度的緩解。

With the aging population, Taiwan is expected to enter a super-aged society in a few years（2025）. However, there is still a serious lack of long-term care manpower to meet the needs. However, with the advancement of AI technology, intelligent service robots are one of the possible solutions. First, there are four main aspects, safety confirmation, companionship, disease treatment and prevention and labor saving. At present, there are also robot companies in Taiwan providing such kind of services. In terms of medical applications, they can achieve remote real-time video telemedicine, health education instructions, and intelligent services. In the application part of long-term care, there are medication reminders, interactive dialogues, and brain training and limb rehabilitation. Even more, after the robot adds autonomous moving capability, it can provide services such as make ward inspection by robots and control by nurses remotely, delivery errands, site tours, and bridge different services to reduce human contact. It is expected that after continuous technological innovation, the maturity of AI artificial intelligence, and the more affordable price of hardware platforms, robots can be introduced into medical long-term care, and the problem of insufficient manpower can be moderately alleviated.
