英文摘要 | As a faculty member of the Institute of Multicultural Education of the National Dong Hwa University, I helped to initiate a series of photography classes with a group of fifteen Truku students in Hualien, Taiwan. Via the approach of narrative inquiry, I pondered upon what it meant to forge a“partnership”between a university and a local elementary school by“getting involved”.The visual project was evolved from a structured class to an activity integrated into the everyday life; and it encouraged children to connect family care experience and school learning activities. The pictures taken by children showed the daily family life of the indigenous and challenged the rigid multicultural imagination of school and society. The educational depiction of indigenous culture and identity focusing on celebration and essence ignores the atmosphere of everyday lives of the indigenous represented in the young photographers' work. |
