Sexual Attitudes and Values in Taiwan:Differences amang Gender, Cohort, and Three Cluster Groups

目的：本研究探討台灣民眾對於色情消費、性交易、色情場所政策、婚前同居、一夜情及婚外性的態度，並申論這些性態度所反映的性價值觀。方法：資料來源是 2002年台灣社會變遷基本調查，樣本數共計 1791人，女性 927人，男性864人，年齡 19.71歲。使用集群分析、邏輯斯迴歸分析、卡方分析等方法進行分析，結果顯示，台灣民眾非常堅持夫妻性忠誠的價值觀，而代表性多元主義價值觀的婚前同居容許度只有在六、七年級世代較為普及。民眾的性態度與性價值觀可分為體制派、生理派及中間派三種集群。生理派相當贊成性交易，並且有不少人容許一夜情與婚外性；中間派與體制派則堅決反對一夜情與已婚者的婚外性與性交易，但兩派在色情消費與單身者性交易的態度有所不同；體制派以女性居多，生理派則是男性為主，可見集群分歧實則包藏男女價值觀嚴重衝突問題。婚姻狀態與教育程度對集群的預測力則不顯著。主要結論為：三種集群最大的鴻溝在於對性自然主義、雙重標準與性商品化的價值觀抱持反對、容忍與認同的不同立場。台灣政府與民間都忽視了民眾性交易政策立場分歧，背後包藏著男女性態度與價值觀嚴重衝突問題。

This study attempts to investigate Taiwanese attitudes towards a range of sexual parties in which it is suspected that there is much debate and reinterpretation. This includes prostitution, the sex industry, cohabitation, the one night stand, and extramarital affairs. It uses this diverse range of topics to discuss contemporary attitudes and sexual beliefs. Data were drawn from the Taiwan Social Change Survey in 2002, a national face-to-face survey. A total of representative 1,791 respondents with age range of 19 to 71 years old were included in the analysis. 864 were males and 927 were females. Cluster analysis, logistic regression and chi-square were performed in this study. Attitudes of Taiwan citizens prefers loyal to partners. Pluralism regarding premarital cohabitation was more popular amongst those born in 1970s and 1980s. Results on attitudes towards sex from the cluster analysis can be divided into three groups: convention, biological and neutral. Biological belief group favors in the sex trade and substantially permits one night stands and extramarital sex. The neutral group was firmly opposed to one night stands and extramarital sex, but allowed singles to trade sex through the sex industry. Convention group is mostly from females and biological group consists of mostly men, reflecting sexual value conflict between men and women. Marital status and education were not significantly associated with groups. The biggest gaps between three groups fall into the attitudes towards sexual naturalism, sexual double standards, and a sex commercialization which is pervasive in Taiwan.
