Book review: Second Language Acquisition and Foreign Language Teaching in China

本文首先对该书的内容进行了概要性简介，而后指出该书的五个特点：内容全面，重点突出；理论介绍采用批判性视角；紧跟学术发展；对二语习得理论与实践的关系有清晰的认识；全书立足于中国外语教学。最后，文章指出了该书的一些瑕疵，如结构可以更加紧凑，研究方法的介绍不够全面，缺少自我认同研究的介绍等。

This paper firstly makes a brief introduction of the whole book. Then it points out five features of this book: an all-round coverage of SLA theories with the prominence of the important ones， critical perspectives in introducing theories， close following of the development of SLA， clear understandings of the linkage between SLA theories and practices， and close perceptions of the foreign language teaching in China with SLA theories. In the end， some flaws of the book are mentioned， such as its less compact structure， less comprehensive introduction of SLA research methods， no illustration on the hot issue of self-identity research， etc.
