英文摘要 | This paper explores methods to design a web-based course for self-directed learning from pedagogical, psychological, social and technological perspectives. It also summarizes the designing principles for web-based courses. The paper reviews literature related to self-directed learning in a web-based environment, theories and pedagogies of learning as they inform the design of web-based courses, and challenges of the design of web-based courses as well as acceptable methods to address these challenges. The paper finds that the success in developing web-based course is dependent on design from pedagogical, psychological, social and technological perspectives. The development of web-based courses should be guided by a focus on learner-centeredness and the application of basic design principles. |
