以有研究和实践均表明，合作学习可以提高学习者的成绩，改善人际交往技能。本文首先探讨了合作学习的理论基础──心理学、多元智能理论以及国际理解教育，并提出合作学习是远程开放教育的重要学习手段。

Collaborative learning can improve the academic achievements of learners and their social communicative skills. The article illustrates the theoretical foundations of collaborative learning in terms of psychology， multiple intelligences and Globe Education and points out that collaborative learning is an important learning method for open and distance education. The article analyses the deficiency of “learning groups” instruction mode of Shanghai Television University and tries to make some suggestion to upgrade the effectiveness of the activities of the “learning groups” so as to have reference to the development of the “learning groups” instruction mode in open and distance education.
