Retrospection and Prospects for the Administration System of Higher Education since the Beginning of Reform and Opening to the Outside World

新中国成立以来，特别是改革开放以来，我国不断探索适合我国国情的高等教育管理体制，逐渐形成了中央政府统一领导、中央和省级人民政府两级管理、以省级人民政府管理为主的高等教育管理体制。我国高等教育管理体制虽然近期内不可能有大的调整，但仍然存在着一些问题，局部的调整却势在必行。

Since 1949， especially since the beginning of reform and opening to the outside world， China has been exploring different administration systems of higher education， and gradually formed an administration system characterized by Two-ladder administration by the central and provincial government， with the provincial government taking the main responsibility under the leadership of the central government. In recent years， dramatic change cannot be expected in the administration system of higher education， although some adjustments will happen gradually.
