论高等教育的独立性

On the Independency of Higher Education

如何保持高等教育的独立性是高等教育发展中一个难题。高等教育的独立性与依附性一对天生的矛盾，他们既互相斗争又互相依赖，并贯穿于高等教育的发展历程，是共时性与历时性的统一。随着高等教育逐歩走向社会生活的中心，在与诸多社会系统进行能量交换中，高等教育的独立空间越来越狭窄。因此，今天高等教育独立空间的拓展必须在深刻领会和把握其独立性内涵的基础上，重建大学文化，把独立性的获得与社会责任统一起来，并寻求法律保障和加强组织制度建设。

It is a difficult problem to keep the independency of higher education which runs in clear contradiction to the dependency of higher education. They keep conflicting but meanwhile coexist in the history of high education. The more the higher education involves in social activities， the lower the independence it has. Therefore， to improve the independence of higher education we must fully understand the notion of independency， reconstruct university culture， seek for law guarantee， strengthen the institutional construction， and balance the independence with the social accountabilities.
