This paper introduces a new train of thought in the process of teaching and learning steel structure， which is to use the mind-manager tool. By making use of it， teachers can accomplish the teaching preparations of the curriculum very well， and the students can complete a good summary and review of the course. It is apparent that applying the complete logical framework of the Mind-manager and the method of whole-brain thinking to the study and work， can greatly reduce the required time-consuming， further， for efficiency improvements， its efficiency cannot be ignored.
