英文摘要 | This study examined whether the text-based online chat can promote learners’ noticing of their problematic language productions and the interactional feedback from their interlocutors. In this study, 14 EFL learners formed 7 mixed-proficiency pairs. The same pair worked on two spot-the-difference tasks, one through online chat and the other through face-to-face conversation. Then, Stimulated recall was held to prove instances of noticing. It was found that the text-based online chat promotes noticing more than the face-to-face chats, especially in terms of learners’ noticing of their own linguistic mistakes. |
