This paper analyzed the requirements of software integration and characteristics of Service Oriented Architecture. With SOA based software integration， it can make software reusable and keep cost lower. The paper discussed the methods of implementing software integration based on SOA by an example to embedding an existed rating service into the resource page of Moodle.
