中文摘要 | 本文探究十二年國民教育課程綱要之素養導向教學對英語文教學帶來的挑戰,並提出廣泛閱讀教學作為解決方法之一。研究透過文獻分析與理性批判的方法探究四個研究問題:素養導向教育對英語文教學有何挑戰?廣泛閱讀與十二年國教課綱有何呼應之處?素養導向之英語文廣泛閱讀教學的理念與實踐策略為何?對此實踐策略的反思性評析?研究結果發現廣泛閱讀與十二年國教課綱有數項呼應之處:強調自發、自主、終身學習,適應個別差異,呼應核心素養。實踐的策略則需落實於多元教材選擇、彈性教學策略、質性取向教學評量上。對實踐的評析發現其優點在於呼應課綱、快樂學習、彈性教學、可結合不同主題;其限制為不易搭配全校統一進度、教材不足、上網閱讀易使學生分心。研究建議教育政策擬定者應解決英語文廣泛閱讀教學的限制,教育實踐者應善用廣泛閱讀的優點以實現素養導向之英語文教學的理想。 |
英文摘要 | This research explores the challenges of competency-based teaching in Curriculum Guideline of 12-Year Basic Education to English instruction. The study uses literature review and rational critique to investigate four research questions: What are the challenges of the competency-based instruction to English teaching? What are the correspondences between extensive reading and Curriculum Guideline of 12-Year Basic Education? What are the ideas and practices of the competency-based extensive reading instruction? What are the criticisms on the proposed practices? The study has found that there are several correspondences between extensive reading and Curriculum Guideline of 12-Year Basic Education: Emphasizing spontaneous, autonomous, and lifelong learning; adapting to individual differences; and echoing core competency. The practices should be completed under multiple learning materials choice, flexible teaching strategy, and qualitative instructional evaluation. The advantages of proposed practices include echoing the curriculum guideline, pleasure learning, flexible instruction, and combining diverse topics. The limitations are that it is not easy to match the uniform progress of the whole school, the extensive reading materials are insufficient, and online reading is easy to distract students. The study suggests that educational policy makers should address the limitations of English extensive reading instruction, and educational practitioners should make good use of the advantages of extensive reading to achieve the ideal of competency-based English instruction. |
