中文摘要 | 臺灣學生在三項國際數學成就趨勢調查的結果表現好,但這不代表快樂學習,正向態度與自信心成績低於國際平均,嚴重兩極化的現象令人擔憂,且給予我們許多省思的空間。而要解決這些問題的根本,必須回到幼兒時期的學習方式,因為幼兒教育是一切學習的基礎。據此,本文旨在提供以具有實徵研究證據為基礎的幼兒數學活動範例,揭露如何進行在主題教學中促進幼兒數概念發展的課程設計,期能在幼兒時期就營造讓幼兒自由探索的學習環境,讓孩子在遊戲中建立對事物敏銳的觀察力,發現隱藏在事物和現象背後的問題,且能更主動地去解決問題。同時,亦期藉由此範例數學活動設計來引發更多幼兒教育工作者起而效之,除可做為幼兒數學教育研究者未來相關研究之方向,更能做為實務現場的幼教師規劃與實施幼兒數學活動的參考依據。 |
英文摘要 | Based on the findings of three international studies on students’ mathematics achievement, it was found that Taiwanese students had superior scores but did not truly agree “they like mathematics”, while their scores of positive attitude and self-confidence were below the international average score. This polarized phenomenon worried and remained us that there were still rooms for future improvements of our mathematics education. Regarding the fundamental solution for this phenomenon, we must re-think of the teaching and learning approach in early childhood education, where it is the initiative and critical stage of our learning. Therefore, the main purpose of this article is to propose an evidence-driven example of young children’s mathematics activities, in which an inquiry-based curriculum design within the thematic teaching context is described in promoting children’s development on number concepts. Through furnishing a free-exploration learning environment, young children are able to establish their capability of observation, discover problems hidden behind things and phenomenons, and, then, actively solve problems. This article also provides valuable suggestions and directions for early childhood researchers and educators to refi ne their research focus and implement their mathematics teaching in practical settings. |
