科学化是近现代理性启蒙的重要标志，也是近现代教学论发展的必然过程和重要特点。中国教学论的科学化是从清末到五四运动前后这段时间里完成的，表现在教学内容、教学方法以及教学论研究本身等方面。同时，经由人文主义影响下的反思性批判，使得我国教学论的科学化进程更为理性，也更为切合实际。可以说，五四时期是我国教学论科学化发展的理性启蒙阶段。
