A Study on the Considerations of Hosting Mega Sport Events

舉辦國際大型運動賽會已成為現今許多國家的全球化發展策略，被視為提升國際形象與國家能見度的契機，以及國家躍上世界舞台的關鍵。雖然主辦國際性運動賽會可帶來可觀的經濟與非經濟效益，但並非有百利而無一弊，有些國家為了主辦而付出龐大代價。因此，本研究探討主辦國際運動賽會可能產生的利弊得失，並從過去的成功案例歸納出足堪本國借鏡之處，以做為未來本國申辦國際運動賽會時規劃方向與策略擬定之參考。

Hosting international mega sport events has become the globalization strategy of many countries, because it can enhance country image and provide a unique opportunity to promote the hosting country to the world. Although hosting a mega sport event may bring considerable economic and non-economic benefits, but it may also bring harm. Thus, this study explores the possible benefits and costs of hosting international mega sport events, and extracts the successful conditions from previous cases to provide suggestions for the planning of bidding and hosting mega events.
