Analysis of Federal Policy Lobbying by AAU

As one of the six major higher education associations in the United States， AAU plays an important role in several policy agendas including accreditation， funding， position recommendation， credit policy and research policy. The institutional arrangement of pluralist democracy provides basis for the expression of different interest groups. As a result， higher education associations such as AAU can lobby higher education policymaking， and become a key actor in American higher education governance.
