On Effective Measures to Enlarge the Scale of ASEAN International Students in China

To enlarge the scale of ASEAN international students in China， we need to avoid being driven completely by market profit， be cautious about the ＂trap of comparative advantage＂ when conducting trade in education services， and consider how to enhance the capacity of local talents training. Based on the distribution feature of regional concentration of ASEAN international students， several ＂ASEAN -oriented international education centers＂ aimed at both enlarging the scale of international students and improving education quality should be built in Southwest China and South China which are densely populated by international students from ASEAN countries. Several strategies are proposed for the establishment of ASEAN-oriented international education centers from the perspectives of government support and participation， Chinese -foreign higher education cooperation， the introduction of high -quality international education resources， and the internationalization of quality assurance and assessment for higher education.
