Arts education plays an important role for youth on academic development， cognition and behavior improvement， creative culture. However， due to the limitations of time and resources， art education is facing many difficulties and challenges to carry out in elementary and secondary schools of America. Art and after-school programs are of ＂natural partnership＂， which combines the advantages of art and after-school programs. They make up for the lack of arts education in schools， promoting youth round development through providing diverse and rich forms of art education and art activities.
