漢語中的許多詞彙，原來都只是普通用語，由於長期使用並積累了特定的意涵，便逐漸被賦予更深層的文化義蘊，甚至有因此影響文化衍變的趨勢。所以，詞彙運用是語文中最值得探討的新課題。從傳統到現代詞彙的演進來看，可明瞭古今義的遵循與變革；從兩岸詞彙、術語、流行語運用的異同來看，可明瞭文化斷層的現象，以及彌縫與融合的需要；從翻譯與修辭等面向來看，可以推知外來語與漢語之間的衝擊與融合。準此，為使兩岸華人在溝通上更富彈性，並理解不同區域常民的生活態度與文化認同，本文將進行解析社會結構的複雜性，以了解不同區域漢字詞彙運用的現象與文化的衍變與發展。

Plenty of characters and vocabulary from sinology, in fact, are common phraseology. On the ground of the use and the accumulation of specific meanings for a long time, they have been gradually equipped with even deeper cultural implication, even having a trend to affect the transformation of culture. Therefore, the application for characters and vocabulary in the language nowadays is the worthiest topic for study or discussion. Perceiving the evolution from the traditional words to contemporary ones, we can realize the course of change and development.
