The Rise and Fall of Confucian Classics as a Discipline in Modern China's University

纵观晚清以来中国高等教育的百年历程，经学作为大学教育制度框架中的一门承载中国传统学 术体系，尤其是儒家思想学说的学科，确立于1904 年，以清政府颁布《奏定学堂章程》为标志，终结于民国初 年，以中华民国临时政府教育部公布《大学令》和《大学规程》等法令规程为标志。

Throughout the century-long history of China's higher education since the late Qing Dynasty， Confucian Classics existed as a discipline within the framework of university education. The discipline inherited traditional Chinese academic system， especially the Confucian thought and doctrine. It was established in 1904 when the Qing government promulgated the ＂Presented School Regulation＂ and ended in the early years of the Republic of China when a series of university orders and regulations were announced by the Ministry of Education of Nanjing temporary government.
