“985工程”对高校本科生源质量的影响

Analysis on the Effect of the %22985 Project%22 on the Quality of Undergraduate Enrollments at Universities

本文基于1998—2011年高校生源质量排名数据，运用中断式时间序列准实验方法中的单组时间序列实验法和多组时间序列实验法，分析了“985工程”对高校生源质量的影响。研究发现，在“985工程”政策下，绝大部分最初生源质量排名靠前的“985”高校维持了其优势，绝大部分最初生源质量排名靠后的“985”高校提升了其生源质量排名，部分最初生源质量排名靠前的非“985”高校逐渐掉出排名前列，而一些生源质量排名原本不相上下的高校因为“985工程”而扩大了排名差距。“985工程”正在重塑中国高等教育格局，部分顶级的专业特色类高校面临严峻挑战。

Chinese higher education rankings are largely based on the quality of the undergraduate student enrollments， as indicated from data 1998 to 2011. This study applies a single- group and a multiple-group time series experiment ( both of which belong to the interrupted timeseries quasi-experimental method) to analyze the effect of the ＂985 Project＂ on the quality of undergraduate enrollments at universities. The findings in this article include: ( 1) most ＂985＂ universities with an initial higher ranking maintained their advantage; ( 2 ) most ＂985 ＂ universities with an initial lower ranking received an increase in high quality students; ( 3 ) some previously high ranking ＂non-985＂ universities were excluded from the top tier rankings; and ( 4) the ranking gap between ＂non-985＂ and ＂985＂ universities increased. In conclu- ~ion， the ＂985 PToject＂ continues to reshape the structure of Chinese higher education ， and some excellent higher education institutions with specific characteristics are facing huge challenges as a result.
