学生使用大学排名进行择校的原因与行为研究———基于上海四所“９８５”高校毕业后出国留学的学生调查

Why and How Students Use University Rankings to Inform Their University Choices ： A Survey of Students Graduated from Four 985 Universities in Shanghai and Studying Abroad

已有的研究证实了有相当比例的学生在挑选学校时会把排名作为重要的参考因素之一。但是，将排名从学生择校的诸多考虑因素中独立出来，专门研究学生是如何认知排名、挑选排名、使用排名的研究到目前为止还很少见。本研究根据对１２９名毕业于上海四所“９８５工程”学校并出国留学的学生进行的问卷调查，探索了学生为什么会在择校过程中参考排名、如何选择具体的排名、对排名的了解程度以及如何使用排名等问题，研究结果对系统地了解学生使用排名进行择校的原因和行为有一定的贡献和启发。

Existing studies confirm that a considerable percentage of students take university rankings as one of the important factors to inform their university choices. However，few researches have isolated rankings from the other considerations of students and focused particularly on how students understand and use rankings to choose universities. Based on a questionnaire survey of 129 students graduated from the four 985 universities in Shanghai and studying abroad，this research answers the following four questions ： Why do students use university rankings to inform their university choices ？How do they choose a specific ranking from all league tables available ？How much do students understand about rankings ？ And how do they use rankings to choose universities specifically ？This paper contributes to a systematical understanding of why and how students use rankings to choose universities.
