20世纪60年代以来，跨文化教育发展经历了外国人教育、文化整合教育、文化多元与差异教育等阶段。90年代初，随着联合国教科文组织相关文件的颁布，跨文化教育得以传播。跨文化教育的快速发展伴随着对一系列有意义问题的研究，如跨文化教育如何保护文化多样性、是否能将跨文化教育參透在学科教育中、各国跨文化教育学校实践分别有着怎样的特点等，本文将对以上内容加以梳理。
