I Have an Alcoholic Father: A Study on the Adult-Child's Experiences in Family of Origin

本研究探討酗酒者子女的原生家庭經驗，包含酗酒家庭中成員的關係與互動，酗酒者子女在家庭中的處境，酗酒者子女對酗酒者之飲酒行為的看法、覺察與反思。以立意抽樣的方式，透過酗酒家庭子女篩選測驗和密西根酗酒篩選測驗，邀請到五位大學生為訪談對象，採用一般質性研究取向，透過半結構式的深度訪談進行資料的蒐集，並以「主題分析法」，就所蒐集到的文本資料進行分析，歸納出酗酒者子女原生家庭經驗的六個主題：（1）同在屋簷下，感情淡如水，心事藏心底；（2）父親酗酒成定局，苦勸無效，只能求自保；（3）酗酒是子女揮之不去的惡夢；（4）家庭破碎羨他人，接受現況漸寬心（5）對酗酒的父親，怨恨中交織著悲憫；（6）記取父親酗酒的教訓，寄託希望於未來。本研究結果有助於大專院校心理諮商專業人員瞭解酗酒者子女的可能面臨的困難和挑戰，進而能夠提供適切的專業協助。後續則可以就酗酒者子女得以因應酗酒者父親所帶來的負面影響的保護因子或復原力進一步探討。

The purpose of this study is to explore the experiences of alcoholic’s adult-child in family of origin. This research adopts purposeful sampling. Through Children of Alcoholics Screening Test and Michigan Alcoholism Screening Test， five college students from alcoholic families were invited. According to the qualitative research approach， the data was collected by semi-structured depth interviews. And ten of the collected documentation materials were further processed through thematic analysis. Six essential themes were identified， they were: 1.) Live under the same roof : indifferent family relationship and family members don’t talk straight in their mind ; 2.)Because Alcoholic parents’ drinking behavior is irreversible， All that Adult-children of alcoholics can do is stop advising and protect themselves ; 3.)Alcoholism is a nightmare that never be able to fade away; 4.)Because of the Broken family， Adult-children of alcoholics envy people from wonderful families， and accept the alcoholic family then feel relieved finally; 5.) Adult-children of alcoholics have a complicated complex about the alcoholic father with hate and compassion ; 6.)Learning lessons from alcoholic farther and looking forward into the future with hope. Based on the findings， some discussions were offered and suggestions for counselors and researchers were made.
