教育即進步－田培林的觀點

Education as Progress : Pei-Lin Tien’s Perspective

杜威指出「教育即生長」，然而田培林卻不同意杜威的觀點，而揭櫫「教育即進步」。為了瞭解其中的原委，筆者首先敘述杜威「教育即生長」觀受重視的背景脈絡；繼之，敘說田培林對杜威「教育即生長」觀的不同觀點為何？最後，則闡釋田培林「教育即進步」觀的思想哲學觀點，並說明其「教育即進步」觀的意涵。

Dewey pointed out “Education as growth.” Pei-Lin Tien， however， disagreed with this and preferred “Education as progress.” In order to analyze this difference between the two statements， the author， firstly， explains why most people emphasize Dewey’s perspective.Secondly， the author explains Tien’s disagreement with Dewey. Finally， the author interprets Tien’s philosophical perspective and the meaning of “Education as progress.”
