范源廉与北京师范大学

Fan Yuanlian and Beijing Normal University

范源廉是“高师改大”后的北京师范大学首任校长。在师大校长任内，他通过聘请名师、严格学校管理等措施，为北师大的初期发展做出了重要贡献。由于经费困难等原因的困扰，其任职时间不足一年即辞职，这对于北师大的发展是一个重大损失。通过对这一时期的北师大和北京教育界的考察，也可以看出教育与政治具有密不可分的关系，在政治混乱的北洋政府时期，欲摆脱政治羁绊，实现教育的独立发展，实为不可能的目标。

Fan Yuanlian was the first president of Beijing Normal University after the movement of transforming advanced normal schools to universities.In the term of president，he made important contributions to the early development of Beijing Normal University by adopting measures such as employing famous scholars and taking strict management.However，due to some difficulties such as the lack of funds，he resigned the president in less than a year，which was a great loss to the development of Beijing Normal University.The study examined Beijing Normal University and the educational circle at that time and found that education and politics were closely related.During the reign of the Beiyang Government，under the political turmoil，it was impossible to get rid of the fetters of politics and achieve the independent development of education.
