英文摘要 | Since the UK election, the new Department for Education led by the new Secretary of State Michael Gove has started a new school reform, by way of calling for schools to apply for transforming academies, publishing the Academies Act, encouraging to set out “free schools”, and scrapping or closing down some agencies or organizations, etc. As a result, the reduction of bureaucracy can be achieved, schools and teachers can have more freedom on teaching and curriculum, and parents and students have great choice for schools. The government has also set up “Pupil Premium” to help the poorest students from the disadvantaged background to tackle the unfairness and inequality long existing in the UK education so that the whole education quality can be raised. |
